You can clearly see how Woshis's spirit got crushed the moment he learned he was a clone, that was a great twist in the game and I think the anime adapted it rather nicely, but yeah... cat's getting out of the bag and shit's about to hit the fan very hard and really soon, can't wait!

In my experience, cats only get out of one bag so that they can crawl into another. Or a box, if no bag is present. :P

The whole situation with Woshis is quite tragic and to a large extent I believe the Mikado is to blame for that.

Many of the things that happened in the story were the Mikado's fault, the good thing is that he managed to find redemption later on.

Guys AQUAPLUS just released the new game Monochrome Mobius on steam on Nov 16th to celebrate 20th anniversary. The story is about Oshtor when he was young, it takes place after sealing Hakuoro and before Haku wakes up.

Although I'm disappointed we didn't get a sequel, I still bought the game to support it, and I'm kinda interested in Oshtor's backstory as well.

It certainly is a good game. We clearly see improvements in the devlopement side but there is a long way to reach an AA game.

They remembers me of Atelier games's first versions. If they take the right path we can only get better games afterwards as they refine their knowledge.

I just think they were not ready to create an open-world now. They clearly lack knowledge in 3D and because of that there are plenty of faceless characters bad textures and emotionless dialogues that kills the voice actors who made an excellent work. They should kept the Visual Novel style for dialogs and keep 3D only for battles as they did before.

My personal opinion.

I totally agree with you, it's still kinda hard to get used to those faceless NPC, like literally every NPC is faceless except a few important characters. I enjoyed playing the trilogy visual novel game play style more tbh. And although it's open world, the map still limit you and it doesn't felt like open world game should be. Furthermore, the jumping button is mostly useless as u can't even jump over a fence. So much room for improvement if they want focus on all 3D. Tbh I don't mind them continue making almost full visual novel game like the previous 3 games.

Yeah the jumping function only works on certain places that triggers some events for example the circle at the desert "jume 3 times" for advancing story. There are some place in the worldmap where it occurs too but it's not made for jumping fences or anything else.

We're lucky that there are some "Visual Novel" dialogs which are top quality, so i think perhaps they just are improving by using what they made on previous games and want to add more place for 3D environnement. I seriously think that the alpha version of the game was completely Visual Novel style for every dialogs.

In this game they are learning scene movments, facial expressions (which we didn't see in other games on 3D environnment even if they are little) some battles scenes too that are not half bad. It takes time to keyframe that (i learnt animation and keyframing in 3D and i can tell it's a long run for learners).

So for me "a fan of the series" i was moved by their improvement even if it's lacking of things everywhere, i just think they should've avoided the openworld but probably, they did that because of this "open world tendancies" of all the games that are out since 2020.

That's why they deserve much more appreciation instead of all those "they forgot this, they forgot that etc...". Even if there is an update with all those faceless NPC remade and modeled, i will keep the original game as it was released now because it's the heart of the development team and if they accepted to release it that way, i accept it that way.

I really hate the "everyone chimes in trope" where they all have to say "it doesn't matter that his real name was Haku and not Oshtor". Makes me want to stab a kitten then clone another one to stab. I guess Woshi is my hero after all. Other than that, the story has been pretty good so far and the dialogue didn't get under my skin too much.

I hated Whoshis at first, but this is quite a downer for him, having to work so hard just to be told you are a clone that will never have rights like the original...

You see they show the young man wearing a white coat on the screen? That's Mikado when he was young, so basically he is a clone of Mikado by using his own blood, that's why he see Woshis as his real son
